Our standards
How stories will be shared
Stories carry real people’s lives. These standards apply to every story before it appears anywhere.
- Every story is real. No composite, sample, or fictional people.
- Every story is shared with the permission of the people in it, for the specific use described to them.
- Names, images, health information, and locations appear only with that permission.
- Attribution is accurate, including when a story involves another organization.
- Anyone in a story can ask for a correction or for the story to be removed.
- Delivered help and changed outcomes are reported separately, without claiming more than the record supports.
